Security Deposit

A refundable security deposit of up to Rs. 3,000 will be charged at the time of booking. During promotional offers, this amount may be reduced. The deposit will be refunded within 10 bank working days after the trip ends.

Post-trip, you can track the refund status in your profile after verification of Fastag charges and any traffic violations. Please note traffic violations are reflected in government portals with a typical delay of 2 days after the booking ends.

Pricing Plans and Extra Kilometers Charges

We offer multiple kilometer packages per pricing plan. The total kilometer limit equals the product of your booking duration and the hourly kilometer limit of your selected plan. Driving beyond this limit will incur additional charges, which vary by car model and city.

Fuel Reimbursement Policy

  • All packages exclude fuel; cars are provided with a refill level of fuel.
  • Renters must return the vehicle with the same fuel level.
  • If extra fuel is returned, fuel bills must be presented to the delivery executive at vehicle return.
  • Reimbursement of fuel bills will not be entertained if bills are submitted after vehicle return.
  • Fuel expenses will be reconciled against Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) mileage standards, applying conservative (lower) mileage estimates.
  • Fuel bills must be authentic and dated within the rental period; handwritten bills are invalid.

Cancellation Policy

  • Customers may cancel bookings with the following conditions:
  • Cancellation ≥24 hours before booking start: Refund of 70% of amount via original payment channel within 10 working days.
  • Cancellation <24 hours before booking start: No refund applicable.

Rescheduling Policy

  • Rescheduling requires notification ≥24 hours before original booking start.
  • Rescheduled bookings must maintain the same or longer duration.
  • The kilometer package selected at initial booking remains unchanged.
  • Rescheduling is subject to vehicle availability.
  • Tariffs may vary based on weekday/weekend pricing.
  • Advance/early bookings for new start times are not accepted.

Extension and Extra Hours

  • Extension requests must be made ≥24 hours before booking end time.
  • Extension durations are subject to availability, minimum 6 hours.
  • A 1-hour grace period beyond booking end time is allowed; thereafter, extra hourly charges of INR 250 apply.
  • Upon extension, customers must provide a complete video of the vehicle condition.

Swapping Vehicles

  • Swapping requires ≥24 hours advance notice and is subject to availability.
  • Charges may vary depending on vehicle type.

Over-Speeding

The permitted speed limit is 80 to 110 km/h. Exceeding this limit results in a fine of INR 1,250.

Vehicle Damage and Accident Policy

  • The renter is liable for damages caused by negligence or violations including:
    • Non-compliance with traffic laws and rental agreement.
    • Unauthorized drivers using the vehicle.
    • Driving under influence of alcohol or narcotics.
    • Exceeding vehicle’s seating capacity.
    • Violation of state regulations or missing inter-state tax payments.
    • Misrepresentation of identity or license details.
    • Unauthorized racing, speed testing, towing, or illegal activities.
  • Liability limit for accidents is INR 30,000; the renter pays repair costs, downtime charges, and any applicable fines.
  • Gross negligence, misuse, or illegal use may result in full liability without cap.
  • Beach or off-road drives are strictly prohibited and incur a compensation of INR 8,000 plus damages.

Cleanliness and Maintenance

  • Clients must keep vehicles clean and undamaged. Violations result in penalties deducted from the security deposit, including:
    • Use of tobacco or chewing gum in the vehicle.
    • Burning any substances inside the vehicle.
    • Excessive dirt, stains, or damage to vehicle upholstery.
    • Bringing animals/pets inside without consent.
  • KP Car Rentals may block or fine customers for non-compliance as deemed appropriate.

Interstate Travel

  • Customers are responsible for all tolls, permits, and taxes when traveling across states.
  • Vehicles come with an all-India permit; however, some states (e.g., Andhra Pradesh, Kerala) require special permits potentially incurring fees.
  • Customers must comply with state border RTO checks and pay any applicable charges.

Fastag Usage

All vehicles are equipped with RFID Fastag for electronic toll payment. Toll charges incurred via Fastag will be deducted from the security deposit accordingly.

Towing Charges

Towing or recovery charges due to renter negligence or accidents are the renter’s responsibility.

Personal Belongings

KP Car Rentals is not liable for loss, theft, or damage of personal belongings inside the vehicle.

General Legal Provisions

These terms are subject to Indian law. The renter agrees to indemnify and hold harmless KP Car Rentals from all claims arising from improper vehicle use. Personal data may be shared with regulatory authorities for verification and compliance.
